Ah, last day of chemo for this 1st round! Sitting here today with Leon and Deb. I have to say I am excited for some home cooking this week-end. I think I have gained about 50 pounds from all of the eating out this week! We spent the night last night at mom marnachs. We rented "Law abiding citizen" It was a pretty good movie.  Dean is actually doing pretty well considering it is the 5th day of chemo! The nurses said this weekend he should be more tired and sick feeling. We then go in on Monday for a nulesta shot, that is a shot that is given to prevent infection since his white blood count will be at a very low level, he just has to stay away from people with colds and such! At 2 on Monday we go to the Hospital because they are going to put a port in his chest so he can get his drugs in that way. We come in again on March 22nd for round 2. Trish, Deans sister comes home that week so he will be so happy to see her. Im looking forward to getting that ldh level drawn again to see if it went down, they will take that again in March 22nd when we go in for round 2. Wish him luck this weekend.

Sitting at the Sioux Falls surgical Hospital this morning waiting while Dean is getting a port put in. This has been a pretty hard week, We stayed at mom Marnachs the last two nights because his immune system has been weak and with the colds that have been running around our house it was the best thing to do!!
He had chemo on Monday and did alright, he has another day of chemo next monday than the rest of the week off. March 22nd he starts round 2!! Trisha comes home that week so he will be greatly excited to see her, as will we all;)

Went to the Dr today to check blood work, everything came back good! The blood test I really want to see is the LDH level, I asked if they would just draw that one w the others and they said we HAD to wait til next Monday the 22nd to let the chemo set in fully from the 1st round~ So please pray that the LDH level is way below 1000.
My brother in law developed a donation website to help w medical expenses and it is WONDERFUL! We are so blessed to have such a great family on both sides and very blesses that they will do anything for us during this time in our lives! We love them so much. Dean starts his 2nd round of chemo on the 22nd of March, Trish comes home that Thursday so we are excited for that arrival!

Ahhh. Another week at Chemo! We met w the Dr. today and he scheduled an MRI for Thursday to see why Deans Shoulder has been so sore. Dad Marnach is here with us today, and Trish comes in Thursday;) This is such a long process, I wish it was the end of May already! He has been seeming to get more tired these days, so this week will be a bugger! Alison, my wonderful sis in law is spending the night Tues and Wed night w the kids so we are soooo greatful for her! A huge Thank you to everyone who has taken time out to view Deans website, and have prayed for us. Thank you all so much for the generous donations as well, We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. I will keep all updated.

Thank you so much for EVERYTHING that people are doing for us at this hard time! Dean and I appreciate it more than words can say. He has had a pretty harsh last couple weeks, this chemo they give him is the worst chemo regiman they give! He still wants to work so bad and it is soooo hard for him to rest! But he does it! Hopefully the chemo sessions will now start to ease up since we are half way through. It was so nice that he was able to spend Easter with family, and be able to hang out with us for awhile. This would be EXTREMELY hard to go through without the care, support, and help of our friends and family, we are so blessed! Keep praying for him, our 3rd round of chemo is April 12th for 5 days and then the last one is the 1st Monday in may. After that they will do a pet scan to see if the chemo has gotten rid of all of the tumors!!

May 10, 2010
Dean has finished his last week of Chemo.  He still has to go in every Monday to take a few more doses.  He goes in on May 24th for his final Cat Scan to identify if the Chemo did its job.  Please keep your fingers crossed as to if there are any tumors are found it means surgery at Mayo... UGH!

See you all at the Benefit on Saturday May 15th!

Dean had his cat/pet scan last Thursday.  We find out today if he has any tumors that are left over from the Chemo Treatment.  If there are any tumor's left he will have to go to Mayo for surgery.  Keep him in your prayers!

Sorry for the delay... They found a tumor on Dean's Abdomen Two weeks ago.  Unfortunately he has had to do multiple tests to see if this is a new tumor or if this is something left over from the original cancer.  It has been tough on the entire family waiting... and... waiting to find out if he will need additional surgeries.  Dean had another pet scan today and found out that he doesn't have to have additional surgery's.  Great News for him!
